You can apply for admission to a new bachelor’s supplementary subject, even if you are already admitted and enrolled in a bachelor’s supplementary subject. If you wish to apply for admission to a new bachelor’s supplementary subject, you must submit your application by the application deadline of April 15, 2025.
You can be admitted to a new bachelor’s supplementary subject if there are available spots after all other qualified applicants, who are not already enrolled or have not been enrolled in a bachelor’s supplementary subject, have been admitted.
If you want to change your supplementary subject, you must apply for the regular supplementary subject admission, with an application deadline of April 15, 2025.
If you are offered a place in your new supplementary subject, you must start on September 1.
You apply to change your supplementary subject by creating an application as usual, where you attach the required documentation for the supplementary subject(s) you are applying to. Additionally, you must attach a document indicating that you wish to change your supplementary subject.
You should be aware that you cannot change your supplementary subject mid-semester.
If you are considering changing your supplementary subject, you should be aware that your application will be placed at the end of the line.
This means that you can only be assigned a spot after all other qualified applicants, who have not previously been admitted to a bachelor’s supplementary subject, have been admitted.
It also means that the options for which supplementary subjects you can switch to are limited, as many supplementary subjects have far more applicants than available spots.
Before deciding to switch, you should therefore consider which supplementary subjects are realistically possible for you to switch to.
If you decide to change your supplementary subject, we recommend applying for several supplementary subjects and considering supplementary subjects without admission restrictions.
Changing your supplementary subject does not in itself trigger an extension of your maximum degree completion time.
Before deciding to change your supplementary subject , you should therefore consider the consequences it may have for your maximum degree completion time and whether you have enough study time remaining to make the change and complete your bachelor's degree within the remaining time.
If you have questions regarding your study time and what impact a potential change of supplementary subject will have on you, you should contact the study center at your faculty.
Can I change my supplementary subject, even if I have already passed courses in my current supplementary subject?
Yes, you can change your supplementary subject both with and without already passed exams in your current supplementary subject.
Is it possible to apply for an exemption to change supplementary subjects outside of the official application rounds?
No, this is not possible. You can only apply for admission to a new supplementary subject in the official application rounds, i.e., the 1st round and the 2nd round.
Can you change your supplementary subject if, after being admitted in the 1st round, you are not satisfied with the supplementary subject you were admitted to?
Yes, you can change your mind about your supplementary subject after admission in the first round and apply for admission in the second round, but you will still be subject to the rules for changing supplementary subjects mentioned above. This means that you will be placed at the end of the queue for the supplementary subjects you apply to – even if the semester has not yet started.
ITTU: I have been admitted to a supplementary subject without ITTU in the first round but have changed my mind – can I switch to the same supplementary subject, but as ITTU?
Yes, you can switch to the supplementary subject as ITTU, but you will be subject to the same rules for changing supplementary subjects as mentioned above. A switch from a supplementary subject without ITTU to a supplementary subject with ITTU is considered a regular change of supplementary subject, and you must apply in connection with the second round of supplementary subject admissions. You will therefore be placed at the end of the queue for the supplementary subjects you apply to, behind the applicants who have not yet been assigned a supplementary subject in the second round. The same applies if you want to switch from a supplementary subject as ITTU to the same supplementary subject, but without ITTU.
